Kitchens and bathrooms / Portland, Oregon

Kitchens and baths, drawn before they're built.

Know the layout, the finishes and the price before demo day. One crew runs the whole remodel, from the subfloor to the last cabinet pull.

White quartz. Doesn't stain, no sealing.

Cabinets

Lake blue. Painted shaker doors.

Hardware

Aged brass.

Swatches show the idea, not exact colors. You see real samples at the consultation.

The decisions happen on paper, not in your torn-out kitchen.

Most remodels run long because choices get made after the walls are open: where the outlet goes, whether the tile you picked is in stock, what the plumber found. Each one stops the job.

We draw the layout, pick every finish with you and price it in writing before we take anything out. When demo day comes, the materials are ordered and the plan is set.

Plumbing and electrical are done by licensed plumbers and electricians we hire and manage, with permits where the work needs them. You deal with one company.

What we remodel

Three rooms. Done start to finish.

Kitchens

Full remodels and layout changes. Cabinets, counters, tile, lighting and floors in one plan.

Bathrooms

Showers, tubs and vanities, waterproofed behind the tile so the walls stay dry for decades.

Laundry and mudrooms

Hard-working small rooms with cabinets, counters and floors that take the abuse.

What's under the finish

Subfloor to backsplash.

You'll see the counters and cabinets every day. These are the layers that decide how long they last.

  1. 1SubfloorChecked flat and solid. Soft spots under old sinks and toilets get replaced, not covered.
  2. 2Plumbing and electrical rough-inLicensed trades move lines to the new layout before the walls close.
  3. 3CabinetsSet level and fastened to the studs, so doors stay square.
  4. 4CountersTemplated after the cabinets are in, so the stone fits the real room.
  5. 5BacksplashTile set last, with clean cuts at every outlet and corner.

Which layout fits your kitchen?

Best for
Open kitchens that share a room with dining.
Watch for
A long walk between the sink and fridge if the legs are too long.
Our note
The most flexible layout in Portland's older houses. Often the easiest way to open a wall.

Questions

What people ask first.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

[Typical weeks from demo to walkthrough, once Tim confirms.] Most of the waiting happens before demo, while cabinets and stone are made. That's why we order everything first and start only when it's ready.

Can I live at home during it?

Usually, yes. We seal the work area with dust walls and can set up a temporary sink and counter elsewhere in the house for a kitchen remodel.

Do you handle plumbing and electrical?

We manage it. The work itself is done by licensed plumbers and electricians, with permits where needed, on our schedule and under our contract.

Can I supply my own cabinets?

[Tim's policy on owner-supplied cabinets and fixtures.]
